Clinicians
For healthcare professionals
Flow & Glow is designed to support self-awareness between appointments, not replace clinical care. We aim to help patients arrive with clearer cycle histories, better symptom context, and a calmer understanding of what may be normal variation versus what deserves medical follow-up.
MEDICAL POSITION
What Flow & Glow is and is not
We want the boundaries to be clear.
Medical disclaimer
Flow & Glow is a general wellness app. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose, does not treat, and must not be relied on as contraception or fertility treatment. It does not replace the judgment of a qualified healthcare professional.
WHY IT HELPS
What it can support between visits
Many patients know something has changed but struggle to describe exactly what changed, when it started, how often it happens, or how it relates to the rest of the cycle. That is where structured, gentle tracking can help.
Area | How it helps | Clear cycle history |
|---|---|---|
Patients can track period dates, cycle length, flow changes, spotting, and skipped cycles over time | Symptom context | Patients can log pain, mood, energy, sleep, stress, and lifestyle notes in a way that reveals patterns |
Phase awareness | Patients can understand menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal phases in plain language | Visit preparation |
Patients can bring clearer observations into appointments and ask more specific questions | Privacy-conscious use | Patients can manage downloads, deletion, and research choices from within the app |
CLINICAL BOUNDARIES
What Flow & Glow can and cannot do
Clear boundaries make trust easier for both clinicians and patients.
Flow & Glow can help users | Flow & Glow does not |
|---|---|
Track cycle dates and symptom patterns | Diagnose PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid disease, PMDD, infertility, or any other condition |
Notice changes over time | Replace history-taking, examination, labs, imaging, or clinical judgment |
Prepare for appointments | Function as a regulated medical device |
Understand cycle basics in supportive language | Provide urgent triage or emergency care |
Reflect on predictions and symptom timing | Guarantee ovulation, pregnancy, or period prediction accuracy |
Support general wellness awareness | Replace personalised medical advice |
Important
Cycle predictions are probabilistic estimates. Stress, illness, medication changes, breastfeeding, contraception changes, sleep disruption, travel, and weight shifts can all affect cycle timing. Predictions should not be used for contraception.
COMMON USE CASES
When patients may find it useful
Flow & Glow may be helpful when a patient wants to observe a pattern before deciding what to discuss next.
Irregular cycle timing
Missed or late periods with negative pregnancy tests
Premenstrual spotting
Heavy or changing flow patterns
Menstrual pain tracking
Mood or energy patterns across the cycle
Fertility-window awareness
Postpartum cycle return tracking
Symptom notes during contraception changes
Better recall during consultations
This does not mean the app can determine whether a symptom is safe. It means the patient has a clearer record of what they experienced.
PRIVACY AND TRUST
How we talk about data protection
Patients increasingly want to know who can see reproductive health data and what happens to it. The answer needs to be direct.
Question | Flow & Glow approach | Does Flow & Glow sell personal health data? |
|---|---|---|
No | Is reproductive health data shared with advertisers? | No |
Can users download or delete their data? | Yes, from within the app | Is research automatic? |
No, research must be separate and opt-in | Will Flow & Glow hand over data casually? | No, valid legal process is required and overbroad demands may be challenged |
For full detail, clinicians can review the Privacy Center, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and GDPR Rights page.
USING THE APP IN APPOINTMENT CONTEXT
How patients can bring useful information to a visit
Patients do not need perfect tracking to make the app useful in a clinical conversation. Even a short, imperfect record can help focus a consultation.
Helpful prompts include:
When did the last three periods start and end?
How long are cycles usually?
Has the pattern changed recently?
Do symptoms repeat before, during, or after bleeding?
Is spotting premenstrual, postcoital, or mid-cycle?
Have stress, medication, weight, travel, exercise, contraception, or breastfeeding changed recently?
Is pregnancy possible, and have tests been taken?
Patient-friendly script
Bring your last few cycle dates, symptoms, and any notes about what changed. You do not need perfect data. Even a simple pattern can help your clinician ask better questions.
